3 days in 1 backpack! | Packing Tips

Me and my family have travelled a lot. When I travel with people who aren't familiar with my packing habits, I always get funny stares "Anna, is that everything?" "Yes, it is :)" When I was in Paris a few weeks ago, I only brought 1 backpack with me, and a tiny canvas bag for food. In this blogpost I'll share my tips and tricks on how to travel light and small.

First of, I know people say it all the time, but only pack what you need.
Put all of the things you need on your bed, or a place you can easily see everything you have to pack. There are a few things you have to ask yourself. Is there a place to wash my clothes? If there is, pack less. Do I need 5 t-shirts for 3 days? Do I really need that fancy dress? If not, put it back in your closet!

ALWAYS check the weather conditions at least 3 days before your trip. Don't take that large sweater with you if the weather conditions are above 30 Celsius. "But what if I get cold?" Well, pack a lighter cardigan that you can wear over your clothes. That will work just fine! (unless the temperature difference between day and night is very big, then better you take that sweater)...

While travelling, wear the heaviest and biggest pieces of clothing you want to bring, so you don't have to pack them (this will save you a lot of space!). I didn't bring any long pants with me to Paris, but was wearing a pair while travelling.

Pack light clothing
, by doing this you can take more clothes with you because it uses less space. I for instance love to bring my jumpsuits and summer dresses, they can be very light and it's like t-shirt and trousers all in one!

How I packed my 3 day trip to Paris into one Fjällräven kånken backpack (13 litters):
Heaviest things at the bottom of my backpack.
This includes my pants, underwear and 1 or 2 books.
On top of that t-shirts that are light and small to pack.
For toiletries, I use small versions of my favourites. If they don't sell my favourites, I'll use small travel containers that I can fill myself.
I usually squeeze a cardigan and some socks in wherever there is left over space. Along with my electronics and other valuable stuff.

I hope you found these tips useful! How do you pack for travelling?
See you soon!
Sincerely,
Anna
