Sinterklaas, a Dutch tradition I grew up with. Every 5 December we celebrate his birthday. While the house smells like cinnamon and pumpkin spices. We are waiting for Sinterklaas to come. The children hold in their breath when they hear someone knock on the door...

Sinterklaas is the Dutch version of Santa Claus. Sinterklaas has Black Pete's (Zwarte pieten). They help him with bringing presents to the children. They climb on roofs and bring presents through the chimney.

Most Dutch people do celebrate Christmas, but not as big as we celebrate Sinterklaas. I'm looking forward to tonight, sharing presents with friends and family. Now, I'm heading to the kitchen to check out my mom's cinnamon cakes. Hope y'all have a nice evening! (Even if you don't celebrate Sinterklaas)
See you soon!

Have you ever heard about Sinterklaas?
