Last days in Barcelona

The fifth and last full day in Barcelona had begun. I woke up by the alarm, and made myself ready for the day. A day with loads of free time, and lovely spring weather (summer weather for Dutch therms tho).

Camp nou was the first thing on our list. I'm not a huge soccer fan, but it was really fun. The huge stadium was impressive, and the tour itself was something I would have never thought of doing myself.

One of the funniest things was the huge FC Barcelona shop. Merchandise and even pieces of the grass field. I bought a card for my sister while one other friend spend over 40 euros. We indeed had fun strolling around the shop.

Leaving the soccer madness we went of to the city. Some free time, without the teachers. Our plan? No plan, we visited the H&M where I bought a really cute jumpsuit. And bought some fruit at a random stand. Walking down the Ramblas, we ended up at the beach, where we ate crepes and hotdogs.

Barceloneta beach was definitely one of the best thing to do on that day. The sea wind was refreshing and the view was magnificent. The water was to cold to swim, but that didn't stop me and my friends from getting closer to the water. We took some pictures of ourselves, and ate more crepes and waffles.

At 4pm we were headed to the copper fish, where our whole group gathered to go to a dutch restaurant. We ate tapas and talked about our past great days in Barcelona.

Heading back to the host-family was a little drive. As we got there, the two french girls also had gotten back from their Barcelona trip. We talked a little and laughed about some video my friend found funny. Heading to bed early was a must, we had to leave early tomorrow morning for our flight back home.

The last day began early, we woke up at 5 am, and got dressed a little slower than usual. We had packed everything the night before so leaving was easy. I put on my favourite sweater (because cold Netherlands) and soon we were headed to the bus. A two hour drive to the airport, and a lot of waiting when we finally got in the plane. Two of my friends sat in the front, me and another friend in the back. The view was pretty, but got cloudier as soon as we reached France. The flight went great and the landing was smooth. Finding my father at the airport (with a little stress) and driving back home did me realize how exhausting the past days had been. At home my mom welcomed me with a green smoothie (which I really needed). And I felt a little more like myself again.

It was such a nice experience, and I can't wait to go back. Back to Barcelona, back to traveling...
