OVARIAN CYST AWARENESS AND STPRY BY ANNA TWENTY SEVEN

A song from Frozen 2 which gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it. Today is an important day for me, one that I have been waiting for (all of my life). In this blogpost I will tell you why!

OVARIAN CYST AWARENESS AND STPRY BY ANNA TWENTY SEVEN

For the past years I have been feeling somewhat out of place. I could never lay a finger on it. I have called it "puberty", "stress" and even doctors said it was stress. I believed them and didn’t really listen to my gut. Until my body told me there was something wrong. The past year my body has changed from somewhat healthy to "not so healthy" and only until my bladder was so full that I couldn't walk anymore I realised something was wrong. I had been to the doctor before, I felt bloated all the time and my tummy would stick out a lot. My doctor said it was IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). I did everything to prevent bloating. I started eating more fibre, drank healthy fruit juices, and overall it worked. But my tummy wasn't as flat as it was before. The doctor told me after my bladder failure that I had to visit the hospital for an echo. Me and my mom went together and we soon found out that it was serious. I had an ovarian cyst, and it was big. For the past month I have been in and out of the hospital for tests and it was quite a ride. But today my cyst is finally going to be taken out. After years of weird symptoms, today my life will finally begin! Soon I will be this happy and jumpy Anna again!

Thank you for reading this, I am posting this to spread awareness for Ovarian Cysts and the dangers that they bring. I will post more about my story soon and I am even thinking about starting a podcast about it.

The moral of my story is, listen to your gut, push your doctors if you feel there is something wrong and spread awareness, because more ovaries can be saved by talking about this.

See you soon!

Sincerely,
Anna
